Konami has released its second pre-release developer diary for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, which details the game’s seamless world.
Lacking loading screens, the aforementioned game world has been designed in the vein of a modern, but gothic city. There’s still a castle, which exists within the region and can be fast-traveled to (or “teleported to,” as the developers say) when need be. However, the open city will be a big part of this action-packed sequel, and will allow for variety that simply wouldn’t be there if everything took place in the confines of one castle.
Developed by MercurySteam, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 follows Gabriel Belmont (aka. Dracula), who is warned of Satan’s impending return. In order to stop the Prince of Darkness from wreaking havoc upon the land, said anti-hero must regain previous powers in preparation for the battle of his lifetime. Along the way, he will fight new kinds of dark and disturbing enemies, in a modernized take on Castlevania‘s lore.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will whip its way onto PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on February 25. Check out the videos below and let us know what you think in the comments section.
