After being in beta on a limited basis for most of the past year, Bethesda Softworks has announced that the beta for BattleCry is set to go global. The bloody, free-to-play brawler has been in development since 2012, and was originally revealed during E3 2014.
To coincide with the announcement, a new trailer for the title was debuted during Bethesda’s inaugural E3 press conference. Showcasing a handful of bloody action, the trailer re-introduces gamers to the five previously unveiled character classes. As it stands, the classes will consist of: Brawler, Enforcer, Infiltrator, Ranger and Gadgeteer.
Besides the character class refresher, the trailer also debuted a new team for BattleCry. With a look befitting the 20th century setting of the title, the Han Republic is a squad of Asian warriors. While a little stereotypical, the monk and samurai flavored designs are at least quite nice to look at.
While it may lack the show-stopping quality of Fallout 4 or DOOM, BattleCry looks like an intriguing addition to the free-to-play world. It’s chaotic, and bloody gameplay could be a blast, and Bethesda has been on a roll lately, so it’s hard to doubt their ability. With the beta now going global, we should have a better understanding of just how things work in the game very soon.
For those that are interested in signing up for the BattleCry beta, you can do so through the official website. For continuing coverage of E3 2015, be sure to check in on We Got This Covered throughout the week.
