Battleborn may not be performing as well as Gearbox Software may have hoped, but that hasn’t stopped the developer from releasing a steady stream of post-launch content.
Following the release of the online shooter’s first Story Operation add-on – Attikus and the Thrall Rebellion – last month, today sees the release of a second: Toby’s Friendship Raid.
Tasked with recovering the titular Toby’s “death-dealing mech suit,” Gearbox says (via GameSpot) that this “all-new story operation let’s players fight their way through LLC manufacturing facilities’ deadly traps and enemies to earn new skins, taunts, and chances to unlock Faction Commander Packs while pursuing their mission to restore Toby’s mech suit to its rightful owner.”
Season Pass holders can download the new content today as soon as it goes live. Everyone else can pick up the DLC for 700 Platinum when it’s made available on the in-game marketplace.
As a taste of things to come, Gearbox also released a piece of concept art for new playable character Beatrix, who will be available in the “next couple of months.”
Billed as a former scientist, Beatrix has a “fondness, if not obsession with hygiene, precision and manipulating living creatures by injecting them with lethal debuffs and disease from her prosthetic syringe-arm.” Upon release, players can unlock Beatrix for 47,500 credits or with a Hero Key.
A third Story Operation – Oscar Mike Vs. Battle School – is currently in the works for Battleborn, although Gearbox has yet to provide a release date.
