Thanks to Major Nelson, we now know which Xbox One and Xbox 360 games will be free-to-download between August first and thirty-first, through Games With Gold.
From August first to fifteenth, Xbox 360 users will be able to download dirtbike racer Motocross Madness at no cost. Then, between the sixteenth and the thirty-first, the freebie will switch from that to former Game of the Year winner Dishonored.
Xbox One early adopters, on the other hand, will be able to download both on-rails shooter Crimson Dragon and space shooter Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut. Both games will be free from the beginning of August until its final calendar day.
As you’ll notice, August will mark the first time that the Games With Gold promotion will offer two “new” Xbox One games, free of charge. It’s something that Microsoft’s current-gen supporters will certainly appreciate, and we hope that it’ll continue after summer’s last month comes to a conclusion. Indicators point towards that happening, though, as both of the soon-to-be-free One games seem to only be dated between 8/1 and 8/31. That wasn’t the case with freebie Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, which ended up remaining free for a couple of months.
Overall, this is a decent yet unspectacular Games With Gold offering, which only features one standout, that being Dishonored. If you’ve yet to play that masterpiece, then you’ve been missing out.
