Such is the blistering success of Apex Legends that we wouldn’t blame you if you forgot how new Respawn’s mega popular shooter really is. It only launched on February 4th, for crying out loud, and has already amassed a userbase of 50 million players.
But Respawn Entertainment isn’t one to rest on their laurels. Far from it, in fact, as earlier this week, the developer took to Reddit to reveal some of the many changes that are coming down the pipeline as part of the Apex Legends Season 1 update. But one thing they’re still keeping quiet on is which new character(s) will be introduced first.
Numerous leaks have pointed to Octane being the fresh face that we’ll meet, but there’s also a good amount of evidence that says it could be Wattson. In any case, we’re almost certain that we’ll be getting at least one new character in Season 1 but even if it’s not the one you’re hoping for, fear not, as Respawn apparently has at least 10 new heroes lined up for us, and the names of them all can be seen in the gallery down below.
Aside from the aforementioned Octane and Wattson, we don’t know anything about any of these new characters, but the fact that there are so many of them coming to the game is certainly exciting and should ensure that Apex Legends has long legs. Then again, with Respawn already telling us that they plan to support it for 10 years, it’s not like we expected anything else.
Besides, the post-launch support for the game so far has been pretty solid, indicating that the developer is fully committed to the road ahead. Because let’s face it, no one – and we really mean no one – could have predicted that it would amass 50 million players after just one month. The challenge now, though, is to keep them all happy and engaged.
