This is it: after sifting through streams of rumors and speculation, we're now within touching distance of E3 2015. Joining Valve in the pantheon of publishers too big for E3 is Rockstar Games. Over the years, the Grand Theft Auto studio has danced to a tune of its own, spinning out some of the most memorable gaming experiences the industry has ever seen. And though its open-world blockbuster is the undisputed crown jewel, Bully proved to be one of Rockstar’s cult hits.

Much like almost every title the New York-based publisher churns out, Bully had character. It oozed personality and had a razor-sharp sense of wit, not to mention surprisingly deep gameplay. The Scholarship Edition may have sated the appetite for a bona fide sequel when it released in 2008, but ardent supporters of James “Jimmy” Hopkins have been lobbying for a true follow-up for some time.

Circling back to a previous entry in our wishlist, Red Dead Redemption 2, and it would seem if Rockstar Games is to announce a direct sequel to either title, it would be the open-world western. Bully may have been a carved out a loyal and dedicated following almost a decade ago, but there’s no question that Red Dead sold more of the two.

Either way, Rockstar has a strict policy when it comes to sequels to any property, stating that “we don’t always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won’t get to them eventually.” Will E3 2015 be the time for Bully 2? Parent company Take-Two renewed the game’s trademark in 2013, after all. We can only hope!
