4) Ashley J. Williams
This is the most no-brainer-y pick of the bunch, but it still needs to be said. Ash is an icon who was once suggested to battle both Freddy AND Jason, and his boomstick would do pretty well against the likes of any Mortal Kombat combatant. His taunting nature is made for fighting games, like a distant relative to the wise-cracking Johnny Cage, and his chainsaw could cut through the mightiest of warriors. Can you imagine the insults Ash would be capable of when facing off against Goro?
As far as combos go, everything listed already seems to be pretty obvious. Ash’s boomstick would work as a ranged attack, the chainsaw could slice through people like Kotal Kahn’s blade, and why not let the Necronomicon get a little screen time?
Maybe Ash accidentally unleashes a demon on his enemy for a gory fatality, like we’ve been seeing in Ash Vs. Evil Dead? Sam Raimi’s famed hero is a damn legend, and deserves every chance to help Earth fight against Shinnock’s destructive attacks.
