When Hollywood gems Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis collaborated together for the epic mother-daughter comedy Freaky Friday, the entire world stood still as a plethora of gut-busting moments were before our very eyes. From the duos’ characters constantly arguing to a tear-jerking reunion at the end, we were undoubtedly blessed with cinematic magic. And while Curtis only portrayed Lohan’s parent for the sake of the film, it turns out the motherly advice didn’t stop there.
In an interview with Allure, Lohan touched upon the upcoming Freaky Friday sequel, revealing that the pair were still working through discussions for the project. While chatting about the possible follow-up, Lohan revealed that Curtis was more than happy to extend open arms to both mother and baby, encouraging Lohan to bring along the baby for the adventurous ride. Lohan said:
“I spoke to Jamie Lee Curtis recently, and she was like, ‘You just bring the baby with you and everything will be fine.’”
Given how immensely popular the movie was and still continues to be, there’s certainly no denying that if they do stage a comeback, Lohan and Curtis definitely have big shoes to fill — even if it’s their own. But seeing as the pair are accomplished actresses with plenty of experience underneath their belts, it should hardly be a massive issue whenever — and if ever — the sequel is brought to fruition.
Despite the pressures of motherhood, it’s clear that Lohan won’t be cracking at all, and that her desire to return for Freaky Friday 2 — and performance alongside Curtis — is just as high as it ever was.
