Responsible for anchoring some of the most cherished teen romcoms for years on end, with Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, Mean Girls, and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen more than earning her space in the Hollywood Pantheon, Lindsay Lohan recently made a triumphant return to the acting stratosphere. The actress has re-emerged following an extended period out of the limelight, after embarking on a series of tumultuous and oft-lampooned personal misadventures that spilled into her professional life, making the actress infamous for the best and worst reasons imaginable.
Amidst her career launching renaissance á la Brandon Fraser, it may appear that her professional trajectory may have to be put on hold in light of a new bun in the oven. At the time of writing, Lohan has just announced the news of her pregnancy through an Instagram post shared by Lohan herself. In this joyous sequence of events, the lingering question behind the minds of many has remained: who is Lohan’s husband, and now soon-to-be baby daddy?
Who is Bader Shammas?
For many, it may come as a surprise that the red-haired New Yorker has actually tied the knot at all, but her more eagle-eyed fans definitely got the memo. Back in 2021, Lohan announced her engagement to fiancé Bader Shammas, following through with their commitment a year later. Upon spending some time away from the spotlight, the unexpected proposal came with very little information about the loving couple.
Over the course of her turmoil-plagued career — which started when the actress was just 10 years old — Lohan became increasingly selective in the information she shares with the public, and understandably so. Nonetheless, Lohan-watchers have started slowly amassing data about Shammas, including his polarizing financial business.
According to several media outlets, and per the information shared in Shammas’ LinkedIn profile, the man who stole the heart of the Hollywood star is an assistant vice president at Credit Suisse, a leading — albeit intermittently problematic and controversial — financial services company. Credit Suisse, according to its official website, aims at “advising clients in all aspects of finance, across the globe and around the clock.” In addition to his current occupation, Shammas reportedly attended the University of South Florida and the University of Tampa.
In spite of having studied in North America, the businessman was actually born in Kuwait, although his birth date has never been disclosed. Currently, Shammas resides in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, alongside Lohan, who travels to the U.S. for work. Regarding his personal life, not much is else is known, other than his religious faith. Shammas is Muslim, which sparked plenty of discussion surrounding Lohan’s possible conversion of faith. The actress has never explicitly confirmed nor denied converting to Islam.
When did Lindsay Lohan and Bader Shammas meet?
Lohan and Shammas have proven to be the epitome of low-key relationships. The duo seems to keep their private details perfectly under wraps, only choosing to share what they truly want the world to know. For this reason, not much has been disclosed regarding the initial moments in their relationship. It is speculated that the couple linked for the first time in 2019, with many believing their relationship was officiated a year later, and finally, Lohan made their social media debut while announcing their engagement.
In July 2022, the Parent Trap actress announced the good news to netizens in an Instagram post where she called Shammas her “husband” for the very first time, leading to the belief that the couple walked down the aisle prior to the term’s usage. As of March 2023, Lohan and Shammas are officially in the final countdown for their due date, upon announcing their pregnancy with a post saying “coming soon.”
Love is in the air for Lohan at long last. Her most recent film, Falling for Christmas, can be found and streamed on Netflix.
