We all look back fondly on certain memories from our childhood, days when things were much simpler and the harsh realities of life seemed a million miles away. In the case of Stephen King, he’s using his reminiscence to take a shot at one of his favored political targets, which is certainly a bespoke way of roasting somebody.
The legendary author has many online archenemies that range from conservative commentator Dan Bongino to orange-faced menace and Zoolander star Donald Trump, with anybody trying to defend the increasing volume of gun violence plaguing the country often caught in his ire, too.
However, Ted Cruz tends to occupy a pedestal all of his own in the Stephen King Hall of Shame, but for once the titan of terror hasn’t made reference to his infamous visit to Cancun. Instead, he’s digging deep into the recesses of his youth to weaponize an insult that must have been the talk of the town back in Maine when he was growing up.
It’s a fairly innocent way of calling somebody an asshole, you’ve got to admit, but you can also imagine that many of King’s peers and contemporaries from the local area are all nodding their heads in agreement and uttering to themselves, “You know what? Ted Cruz really is a dub.”
Whether you agree with that sentiment – or even if you’ve got no idea what it means in this context – maybe it could act as the inspiration to dig up even more long-forgotten barbs to bring roaring back to 21st Century relevance.
