Rihanna‘s Super Bowl performance was a magical rendition of some of her greatest hits, and while she sang a medley that fans everywhere loved, something was missing from that performance in the form of one Tom Holland. Why exactly were fans hoping that Holland would join Rihanna during the big game? Well, a particularly memorable episode of Lip Sync Battle is the answer.

When Tom Holland and Zendaya joined forces to take on one of the most iconic episodes of Lip Sync Battle ever, fans immediately fell in love with Holland’s rendition of the iconic song “Umbrella.” He brought with him a zest for life, talent, and enough fire to make us all believe that the song and dance performance were made for Holland and Holland alone.

When Rihanna took the stage for the halftime show, she did sing “Umbrella” without Holland, and fans had a lot to say about it. Of course, in the lead-up to the show, fans were hoping she’d bring Holland out and that all complaints for the rest of our lives would be null and void.

Unfortunately, for those we know and love —we’ll be complaining for the rest of forever.

In fact, fans say that if Rihanna wanted to set a standard for halftime shows, she would have brought Holland over.

Nothing says disappointment like Holland not rushing out in some faux rain to steal our wigs.

Fans are waiting until the moment when someone edits Holland into the performance, and we have to admit — we’d like to be tagged immediately after it’s live.

Fans think Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance might have been the best if she had invited Holland to take the stage with her. However, she could carry the entire halftime show on her own; we have to say, that’s quite a feat! You can watch his performance below for those who were missing Holland during “Umbrella.”
