Taylor Swift is kicking backsides and taking names these days with her Eras Tour — estimated to become the highest-grossing concert in history — but despite going on an utterly fascinating performance rampage and making the whole place shimmer, the internet continues to be obsessed with T-Swizzle’s romantic life, particularly following the news of her breakup with British actor Joe Alwyn after a six-year relationship.
When you happen to be one of the world’s biggest pop stars, you can never stop expecting your personal life to be scrutinized in every waking moment. And Taylor Swift, in particular, has always found herself on the unfortunate end of that galling spotlight, whether it’s being photographed with someone whenever she sets foot outside her NY apartment, or finding herself in the uncomfortable position of deflecting wild rumors regarding her romantic life, and at times, even her sexuality.
Is Taylor Swift gay?
For years now, Swifties have suffered persistent gossip about their favorite singer/songwriter dating one of her so-called squad members. Miss Americana’s friendship with Karlie Kloss and eventual falling out even has a conspiratorial timeline of its own, so is it that surprising to learn the internet hasn’t still given up on a bizarrely flung out speculation from more than a decade ago?
The answer is no, because during a recent chat with Rolling Stone (per CNN), Glee star Dianna Agron was asked about her alleged romance with Taylor Swift when the two of them hung out for a bit in 2011 and 2012, and she dismissed them without missing a beat.
“Me? Oh, if only!” She replied. “That’s more because of a friendship than being the inspiration for the song. But I would not be the person to ask about that. I cannot claim that!”
And if that doesn’t clear it up, Agron was specifically asked about the two of them being “shipped,” to which she replied:
“That is so interesting. I mean, there have been many stories about my dating life that are so wildly untrue. That’s funny.”
So, there you have it, folks. If you come across anything digging out these old, albeit frenzied, social media scoops — especially now that Taylor Swift is the talk of every town — you can take them for what they are; wild rumors and nothing more.
