One of the greatest joys that an actor can experience is having a fantastic time while engrossed by a specific role or feature. And while it’s worth arguing that the majority of actors and actresses have a thrilling time filming projects — although Shia LaBeouf is a recent exception — one could argue that nobody has indulged in the idea of having fun while acting as much as Hollywood veteran Harrison Ford.
While chatting with People, Ford, who has celebrated a fantastic few months in the land of television, spoke about his recent venture into the ever-popular MCU — with the Indiana Jones star recently portraying Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in Captain America: Brave New World. While discussing the role, Ford insisted that he joined the MCU party after seeing “a lot of great actors having fun,” explaining that he wanted to have some fun, too.
Judging by Ford being all smiles lately and talking about Marvel in such a positive light, there’s certainly no denying that the 80-year-old actor did have a blast participating in the action-packed film. That’s not to say that he didn’t experience some serious fatigue from how much work it takes to star in a Marvel movie, but it all comes down to the equal balance between work and play.
On the other hand, it certainly appears that Ford got his foot in the MCU door just in time before a handful of Marvel projects were pushed back due to the WGA strike. As it stands, Ford is set to enjoy his MCU debut when Captain America: Brave New World releases on July 26, 2024.
