The Little Mermaid is already eliciting strong emotions, strong enough that a gentleman proposed to his girlfriend after an early access screening of the film. The cute couple was caught on camera by another cinema attendee, with the video then making its way onto Twitter, where it was seen by the star of the film itself, Halle Bailey.
The Little Mermaid‘s release is now imminent, and for some people, catching it as soon as it came out was paramount. One cinemagoer, though, was in for more than just one treat, as she left an early screening only to be greeted by her partner down on one knee with a bouquet of flowers and a ring in his pocket. Spectators looked on, with one young girl aghast in the background as she watched the proposal unfurl.
Since the video has been posted to Twitter it was seen by the woman of the hour (other than the now newly engaged fiancée of course), Halle Bailey. The star of the film posted her own congratulations to the couple whilst sharing the video on her own Twitter feed.
Disney’s live actions haven’t always hit the mark, but so far reviews for their most recent attempt seem to be pretty decent, with many happy that the film seems to be sticking quite closely to the original animation. Of course, we will get a better look at audience reviews soon as doubtless many will flock to see the new addition to Disney’s live-action adaptions.
