Having cultivated a well-earned reputation as one of the most wholesome and entertaining presences on social media, Mark Hamill is allowed to take a potshot every now and again, with Donald Trump one of his favored targets.
Of course, the Star Wars icon is far from the only high-profile Hollywood figure to cultivate a habit for roasting the former host of The Apprentice whenever the opportunity presents itself, but the fact that Hamill’s timeline is typically nothing but 100 percent sunshine and rainbows makes it noteworthy when even the merest shred of sass creeps its way in.
Even though he did so in typically understated style, the deepfake favorite made a point of responding to what Jim Jordan had to say about Trump’s ominous intonations of “death and destruction” by noting that the tangerine terror had somehow managed to misspell a word that’s only got five letters to begin with.
If such an egregious (and basic) grammar mistake is being made by someone who used to hold the highest office in the land – and continues threatening that they’re planning to do so again – then at least we can infer that Trump is one of the rare celebrities/politicians who actively controls their own Twitter feed, because there’s no way a member of his team – or even someone with the most basic grasp of how to spell simple words – would have let such an oversight slip through.
Nothing gets past Hamill, though, even if it’s almost certainly never going to be pointed out to Trump.
