Donald Trump insults Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance, forgetting his own Super Bowl scandals over the years

The term “armchair critic” has never been more relatable after Donald Trump takes a swing at Rihanna‘s Super Bowl performance, all the while overlooking the fact that he himself has presided over some of the most ludicrous blunders in the history of the National Football League.

Rihanna left audiences absolutely slack-jawed with awe and admiration after giving a performance for the ages during last night’s Super Bowl halftime, and the fact that she did it pregnant has somehow made this even more badass. Haters are going to hate, though, and in this specific instance, the former President of the United States has seized upon that opportunity.

Donald Trump didn’t miss a beat taking to his social media platform Truth to criticize the Caribbean queen for her Super Bowl performance. As usual, the real estate mogul-turned-politician went on an incoherent rant that used a lot of words but didn’t actually say anything.

“EPIC FAIL: Rihanna gave, without question, the single worst Halftime Show in Super Bowl history — This after insulting far more than half of our Nation, which is already in serious DECLINE, with her foul and insulting language,” Trump wrote. “Also, so much for her ‘Stylist!'”

We can’t help but be reminded of Trump’s own numerous sports fiascos over the years, starting with this Super Bowl ad in 2020 that mistook the Office of the President with an action movie trailer from the early 2000s.

Then there was that hilarity with Super Bowl 51 when Trump predicted the New England Patriots would win but left the show prematurely when he’d been proven wrong by the Atlanta Falcons.

How about the time the President worked up another media scandal by sitting next to the ex-owner of a spa linked to Robert Kraft’s prostitution charges?

I think we can all agree Trump is generally awful at sports. Trump once threw out a first pitch that hit the ground and ended up canceling a 109-year-old baseball tradition when he took office. Suffice it to say, the President should be the last person to question Rihanna’s performance at the Super Bowl, and social media seems to agree on that point, even among the conservatives.

Maybe he doesn’t know how to dance to Rihanna’s songs?

Whatever Trump’s sentiments are regarding Rihanna and that performance, it seems that a lot of people would beg to disagree with him.
