Very soon, 2015’s most sharply dressed evil deity, Bughuul, will haunt the homes of fans everywhere when Sinister 2 arrives on Blu-Ray and DVD. The movie will first release on Digital HD on December 22 (just in time for Christmas morning!) before making its way to Blu-Ray and DVD formats on January 12.
Here’s the full rundown of bonus features that Blu-Ray owners can look forward to:
- Digital Copy of Sinister 2
- Includes UltraViolet
- Deleted Scenes
- Extended Kill Films
- Time to Watch Another: The Making of Sinister 2
- Feature Commentary with Director Ciaran Foy
As for DVD owners, here’s what they can expect:
- Deleted Scenes
- Time to Watch Another: The Making of Sinister 2
- Feature Commentary with Director Ciaran Foy
Considering DVD owners are often served bare bones releases these days, that list of features is not too shabby. The “Extended Kill Films” featurette is obviously exclusive to the Blu-Ray edition, but that may be a good or bad thing depending on who you ask. The first Sinister film went the “less is more” route, whereas the sequel glamorized the kills in a way that may cause the franchise to fall into the same trappings that the Saw series did, no pun intended.
The one unfortunate thing here is that there’s not a featurette devoted to the music of the film. Many fans, including myself, feel the Sinister series is a great showcase of ambient music, and it would of been nice to get a behind the scenes look at that.
