Fox Home Entertainment has announced the latest Jonah Hill starring raunchy comedy The Sitter for Blu-Ray in March. The disc will come with the theatrical cut as well as a “Totally Irresponsible Edition”, which is an extended unrated version of the film.
I actually really enjoyed the David Gordon Green comedy, despite the massive wave of negative criticism it received when it opened (and closed fast) in theaters in December. I thought it was hilarious, dark and an all-around fun time.
I recognized most of its flaws and forgave some of them, especially the ones involving Hill’s character giving pep talks to the kids, in exchange for some gut-busting laughter provided mostly by Hill. David Gordon Green‘s recent comedies haven’t been as successful as previous titles and I don’t know why, because the comedy seems to only be getting better and better.
Our very own Benjo had this to say about the film in his full review. He obviously didn’t care for the film as much as I did.
Dumb as a nail and as routine as Hollywood can get nowadays, nothing is fresh or funny about it (which is a death row sentence for a comedy).
The Sitter will come with a 1080p video transfer and a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. Here’s the list of confirmed special features.

The Sitter will be available to own on March 20th, 2012.
