Fox has announced visual director Tarsem Singh‘s latest film, Mirror Mirror, for Blu-Ray in June.
Tarsem Singh is without a doubt one of the most visually dazzling directors working in Hollywood today, but lately he’s been having a lot of trouble trying to add some story to his beautiful backdrops and elegant costume designs. Immortals was a perfect example of style over substance and Mirror Mirror looks to be the same, if not worse.
The comedic timing in almost every trailer or TV spot is awful and not a single character looks the least bit interesting, but I haven’t actually seen the film so I can’t fully comment on it. I can’t help but to compare it to Snow White and the Huntsman though which looks miles better.
Our very own Kristal Cooper did get a chance to see the flick and here’s what she had to say in her review:
Mirror Mirror is an aesthetically fantastical yet ultimately tedious film that may occasionally please the tots in the audience. However, it will leave adults far less enchanted.
The Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack will be presented in 1080p with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. The following bonus content will be included:
- 2 Behind-the-scenes featurettes
- “I Believe in Love” Dance-a-long
- Mirror Mirror interactive storybook
- 5 Deleted scenes
Mirror Mirror is scheduled to be released on June 26th, 2012.
