Anchor Bay Entertainment will be bringing Trust Me, a dark comedy-drama which The Avengers actor Clark Gregg wrote, directed and starred in, to DVD on August 26th, and We Got This Covered is pleased to be able to exclusively unveil the DVD box art for the movie.

Trust Me stars Gregg as a down-on-his-luck agent for Hollywood child stars who, despite his good heart, has a bad habit of letting his mouth get away with him, which means he often loses clients to his slick arch-nemesis Aldo Shocklee (Sam Rockwell). After stumbling across a 13-year-old acting prodigy (Saxon Sharbino), he finds himself on the precipice of closing a massive deal which would work to catapult both himself and his client onto the A-list. However, as he continues to work with the young actress, he becomes troubled by signs that she may not be as innocent as initial appearances would suggest.

The film boasts a truly terrific cast, also including Allison Janney, William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman, Amanda Peet, Molly Shannon and Niecy Nash. Critics were sharply divided on it (it’s actually sitting with a perfectly split 50% on Rotten Tomatoes), and our reviewer Jordan Adler wound up giving the film two stars and calling it “a muddled showbiz satire that never finds its tone or momentum.”

Personally, I enjoyed the film – though to call it a straight comedy would be a mistake. Trust Me‘s surprising and bold plot twists render it a much darker and more troubling watch than initial appearances (and indeed the DVD cover below) would suggest. Still, Gregg is terrific in the lead role – and his talents stretch to screenwriting and directing too, as it turns out.

Check out the DVD cover art below, and be sure to pick up Trust Me when it hits shelves on August 26th!
