Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgaard are in talks to join Lovelace, the biopic about Linda Lovelace, the late 1970s porn star. Seyfried is in talks to play Lovelace while, Sarsgaard is in talks to play Lovelace’s husband, Chuck Traynor.
The film is being directed by Howl directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman and originally had Kate Hudson lined up to play the star before she departed. Then, Olivia Wilde and James Franco were in talks to join the film as Lovelace and Traynor, but it now seems those two actors’ incredibly busy schedules kept them from the pic.
The script is based on The Complete Linda Lovelace, a biography by Eric Danville that was published in 2001, and the script is being adapted by W. Merritt Johnson and Andy Bellin.
The biopic is competing with another Lovelace biopic, Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story, which is set star Malin Akerman and Matt Dillon in the roles of Lovelace and Traynor and both films are gearing up to shoot towards the start of next year.
Lovelace and Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story are due out in cinemas in late 2012, or more likely, closer to mid 2013.
