Avengers: Endgame brought together every hero in the MCU, but you know what really let it down? It didn’t have clips of Tobey Maguire from the original Spider-Man movies awkwardly spliced into the big final battle.
Thanks to a series of awesome new videos, however, this grievous error has at last been put right. In a hilarious fan edit, the moment where Captain Marvel takes the Infinity Gauntlet from Tom Holland’s Spidey goes a little differently.
If this is just the sort of content you’re looking for, then I’ve got good news for you. The video comes from Tobey In The MCU, which – just as the name suggests – is an account that’s solely dedicated to editing Maguire’s Peter Parker into Marvel Studios movies. Naturally, they’ve got a lot of mileage from Endgame, and my personal favorite that I’ve seen is the Tobey-infused version of Iron Man’s snap.
These videos are everything, but could Maguire legitimately turn up in the MCU in the future? Holland has previously put forward the idea that the actor could play Uncle Ben in flashbacks, something that we have to admit would be pretty epic. As for Maguire himself, the star has said he wouldn’t rule out doing another superhero film as he’s open to whatever project comes his way.
And if he doesn’t show up as a new character in the MCU, what about Maguire reprising his version of Spider-Man in some live-action version of Sony’s Spider-Verse concept? It sounds like something too good to be true, but Sony’s Amy Pascal has stated that anything’s possible. And, once again, the massive Spider-Man nerd that he is, Holland’s totally up for the idea.
Tell us, though, what do you think would be the best way to bring Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man back to the Marvel universe? Let us know your thoughts in the comments, webheads!
