If we were to flash forward one year from now, we’d be looking at a much different landscape for the Arrowverse. In addition to numerous seismic shifts to be caused be the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event, Arrow itself will have concluded following eight thrilling seasons.
Now, just because Oliver Queen’s personal journey will have met its end doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll have to see the last of his supporting characters. After all, the name “Arrowverse” isn’t used lightly, as there’s been much overlap between the series comprising it.
Here’s what executive producer and current showrunner Beth Schwartz had to say in TV Guide Magazine’s Comic-Con Special when asked if the supporting cast will call it quits:
“You could see them on other shows. That’s the fun of it for the fans, and I’m sure for the actors as well.”
Granted, we don’t know exactly who’ll make it out of season 8 alive – or “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” for that matter – but the aforementioned flash forward segments have shown us that Dinah Drake, Rene Ramirez and Laurel Lance are all alive and well in 2020. In my view, those are the first possible choices for seeing more of on other shows.
But which of them exactly is the question. Considering how Legends of Tomorrow has a (White) Canary of its own, Dinah or Laurel would be prime choices for guest shots over there. John Diggle, meanwhile, has a history of showing up on The Flash from time to time, so why stop now?
Speaking of Legends of Tomorrow, with it being a time traveling show and all, we can’t rule out the Waverider crew fighting alongside the likes of Mia Smoak and Connor Hawke at some point. With the possible Blackstar spinoff being a thing, this could certainly work.
Arrow returns with new episodes on Tuesday, October 15th on The CW.
