According to the Twitter Movies account, the Avengers: Infinity War sequel has been mentioned in 50 million tweets, making it the most tweeted about movie ever. And honestly, if anything, it’s surprising that the film didn’t reach this milestone sooner. I mean, just look at how social media exploded every time a new trailer dropped, or any time Chris Evans hinted that this would be Captain America’s final outing.

Twitter Movies also released a list of the top ten most talked about Endgame characters. At the number one spot is Thanos, which perhaps only figures, seeing how the film has a ton of heroes, but only one main villain. Second, third and fourth place go to the MCU Trinity of Thor, Iron Man and Captain America, respectively. After that comes Hulk, and in sixth place, you may be a little surprised to find is Loki (granted, his upcoming TV show gives people a lot to talk about).

The rest of the list is rounded out by Spider-Man, Black Widow, Groot and Nebula. And yes, it is a little strange that Groot gets in ahead of Ant-Man, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye and the rest of the Guardians.

In any case, it’s clear that Avengers: Endgame is going down as one of the big pop culture events of 2019, and the box office figures very much reflect this. At the time of writing, the film’s global total sits at $1.481 billion, making it the eighth highest grossing movie of all time. Could the flick make it all the way up to the top spot? Only time will tell, but given how much noise the feature is making online, we wouldn’t rule it out.
