Seeing how the first trailer for 2017’s It was released in the March before the film’s September debut, most of us really thought that It: Chapter Two would’ve got the same treatment by now. Nonetheless, it looks like we’ll be moving into May without seeing any footage from the upcoming horror sequel. For what it’s worth, however, producer Barbara Muschietti at least seems aware how anxious people are for the big reveal.
In a recent Instagram post, Barbara shared a photo of director Andy Muschietti and actor Javier Botet, along with the following caption:
“@andy_muschietti and @jbotet also waiting for the trailer. I swear, it’s coming.”
While Muschietti didn’t offer any clues as to when it might be coming, it certainly sounds like the trailer could be just around the corner. Already, some footage from Pennywise’s next outing has screened to attendees at CinemaCon, who reportedly saw a grown up Beverly Marsh, played this time by Jessica Chastain, return to Derry and relives her childhood trauma.
The rest of the Loser Club is rounded out by James McAvoy as Bill Denbrough, Jay Ryan as Ben Hanscom, Bill Hader as Richie Tozier, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike Hanlon, James Ransone as Eddie Kaspbrak and Andy Bean as Stan Uris. One character who doesn’t need recasting, however, is Pennywise, played once more by Bill Skarsgård.
Jumping forward a whole twenty-seven years to 2016, It: Chapter Two sees the killer clown emerge to terrorize a new generation of Derry children. We’ll find out if the Losers Club can banish the creature once and for all when the film hits theaters on September 6th. In the meantime, look out for that trailer.
