As you’ve likely heard by now, this past weekend went phenomenally well for Avengers: Endgame, which comfortably shattered the all-time record for biggest global opening. But while yesterday saw the emergence of some staggeringly high figures, it seems that the film’s debut was even more successful than previously thought.

Yesterday, it was reported that the Avengers: Infinity War sequel had grossed $350 million domestically and $859 million overseas, adding up to a worldwide total of $1.209 billion. Not too shabby, seeing how no other film has even managed to pass the $1 billion mark on its debut. According to Exhibitor Relations Co., however, Endgame’s domestic opening actually sits at $356 million, and its overseas figure is at $866 million. This gives the feature’s global opening a grand total of $1.222 billion.

Of course, when we’re dealing with numbers this high, perhaps an extra $13 million or so is just splitting hairs. Either way, the movie already boasts a long list of commercial records, including biggest opening weekend in 44 markets. North America aside, the region where Endgame made the largest amount was China, where the film’s five-day opening saw a total haul of $330.5 million.

In North America, meanwhile, Anthony and Joe Russo’s latest work took the record for widest ever release, coming out in 4,662 theaters. This huge opening allowed the movie to dominate the domestic market, accounting for 90% of this past weekend’s entire box office. The film also holds the record for biggest single day of all time, not to mention the biggest Saturday and Sunday.

Now that so many people have already made their trip to the theaters, it’ll be interesting to see how well Avengers: Endgame sustains its success, but don’t be surprised if the movie manages to shatter a few more records in the coming weeks.
