Tom Holland Explains Why He Wasn’t At The Avengers: Endgame Premiere

While the MCU’s dead characters have been mostly absent from Avengers: Endgame press events, one major exception was the film’s world premiere in Los Angeles earlier this week, where an array of snap victims showed up to support the Avengers: Infinity War sequel. Even stars like Natalie Portman and Linda Cardellini, who haven’t featured in a Marvel movie in years, managed to make the event, and yet Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland, was a no-show.

Nonetheless, the star of the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home still took the time to share a quick a video, in which he explained why he wasn’t at the premiere, before offering a big thanks to his fans and collaborators.

“Hey everyone. I just wanted to do a little message and say sorry I wasn’t at the premiere last night,” Holland said. “I’m here in Alabama…no I’m not I’m in Atlanta shooting…what are we shooting, we’re shooting Chaos Walking, I’m a little tired.

“But I noticed on the red carpet there was a thing with a thank you cam, for all the fans, you are amazing fans, and so I wanted to do my own thank you cam and say thank you so much for allowing me to be part of this amazing journey. It’s really…you changed my life and I could’ve never imagined this would ever happen to me, so thank you so much, and I hope the premiere was as amazing as the last one. I’m sure it was amazing. The Russo Brothers, you’re amazing. I hope the film performs in every way possible, thank you everyone so much and go and see Avengers: Endgame.”

While Peter Parker suffered a sad fate in last year’s Infinity War, you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who believes that he’ll still be dead by the time the credits start rolling on Endgame. After all, Far From Home is just a couple of months away from release, and producer Amy Pascal has already claimed that the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel will start “a few minutes after Avengers 4 wraps as a story.”

As it stands, fans in North America still have another day to wait before they find out how Earth’s Mightiest Heroes plan to go about reversing the snap, though the new movie has already reached quite a few territories across the world. With that in mind, Holland no longer has to drop any of his patented spoilers when the details are all readily available online. Even the film’s Wikipedia page now features a full plot summary.

Regardless, you can see for yourself how Anthony and Joe Russo have brought the MCU’s current era to a close when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, before Spider-Man: Far From Home comes out on July 2nd.
