The Men in Black franchise goes international in this glorious second trailer for the Sony-backed reboot.
Featuring MCU heroes Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, the above trailer is packed with new footage, as the sharp-suited agents embark on a global adventure to locate (and potentially destroy) a mole at the heart of the MIB organization.
To make matters worse, an alien threat known as the Hive have emerged, too, and they possess shape-shifting abilities – think of the Skrulls from Captain Marvel, only nastier. Exactly what they hope to achieve remains a total mystery at this early stage, but this morning’s trailer hints at the moment when the Hive transforms into MIB agents, replete with black suits and black Ray Bans. Talk about a disaster waiting to happen…
There’s plenty of action to fawn over, too, which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise given Men in Black: International is directed by none other than F. Gar Gray, the man responsible for both Straight Outta Compton and the supercharged Fate of the Furious. This time around, he’s traded fast cars and family for big guns and top-secret organizations. And we’re fascinated to see his vision come alive.
Also board for this franchise reboot is Liam Neeson, who assumes the role of High T, head of the organization’s UK branch. Emma Thomspon also returns to her role of Agent O, with Rebecca Ferguson and Kumail Nanjiani expected to round out the ensemble cast as fresh-faced aliens.
“Here come the Men in Black, galaxy defenders…” Hoping to obliterate any memory of MIB III, look for International to light up theaters the world over on June 14th.
