Last night, the biggest stars of the MCU attended the world premiere of Avengers: Endgame in Los Angeles. But before everyone was sat down for the long-awaited culmination of the MCU’s first decade, many of the cast members took a moment to share some memories of the late Stan Lee.
Thor actor Chris Hemsworth, for instance, recalled how the renowned comic book creator had a “sort of child-like wonder,” an “infectious” energy and a “love for these stories.”

Meanwhile, Benedict Wong reminisced about the time he met Lee on the press line for Doctor Strange. The Wong actor explained how he “broke the press line and just made a beeline over to [Lee] and was sort of fanboying over him.” While Wong began his introduction by remarking, “Stan you don’t know me,” the writer immediately interrupted him and said, “You’re Wong!”

As for Karen Gillan, the Nebula actress recalled how Lee was marveling at her makeup job on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy when she told him that she had to go do a big fight sequence. At this point, Lee turned around, raised his fist and said, “Knock ‘em dead.”

Lastly, Paul Rudd discussed the time that Lee came onto the set of Ant-Man to film his cameo, and the two of them “spent about 45 minutes just hanging out watching dailies, watching stuff being filmed.” The actor recalled how Lee was excited about seeing the Ant-Man comics adapted for the big screen, since “he was finally going to see the scale of it as he always imagined.”
Sitting with Stan Lee on the set of “Ant-Man” is something Paul Rudd will never forget.
