While advance ticket sales for Avengers: Endgame have yet to be made available in North America, cinema chains are starting to ready for themselves for the presumed biggest blockbuster of 2019.
AMC Theaters, for instance, recently posted a listing for “Marvel Studios’ 22-Movie Marathon” on April 23rd. As you may recall, last year Marvel Studios marked their 10th anniversary by bringing every MCU movie to date back to cinemas as part of a multi-day marathon. And now that the Avengers: Infinity War sequel is set to bring the superhero saga’s current era to a close, it looks like an even lengthier marathon is coming to theaters on release week.
On a related note, for those who don’t have the time and stamina to see 22 movies in a row but still want to do something special for the Endgame launch, theaters have also started listing opening night fan events for the film. At this rate, it’s expected that advance ticket sales will be available in the very near future, and if international pre-sales are anything to go by, then many of the first available screenings are sure to sell out quickly.
As theaters plan for release week, it hopefully won’t be too much longer before we get an official runtime as well. Anton Volkov from TrailerTrack got the internet talking earlier today when he tweeted word that the film is sitting at 183 minutes, but has since deleted the post, explaining that it looks like the rumor “might be BS.” Regardless, it’s seeming increasingly likely that the runtime will fall somewhere close to the 3-hour mark, in which case, fans can judge for themselves if this is time well spent when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
