Though not without its flaws, the RE 2 remake is devilishly terrifying and a real thrill to play, offering up pure survival horror retro-fitted for a modern audience. There’s just one problem with it though, and that’s that it’s not yet available for the Nintendo Switch, leaving a lot of people out in the cold and unable to experience it.

And unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that’ll change anytime soon. Taking to Twitter this week, Capcom revealed that there are currently no plans to bring Resident Evil 2 to the Switch. They didn’t give an exact reason for why, but it’s likely due to the hardware limitations of the console.

True, the Switch is nowhere near as powerful as say the Xbox One or PS4, but with some downgrades to the game’s graphics and other tweaks, we imagine Capcom could get it to work on Nintendo’s device. Then again, who knows? Maybe there are other things holding them back, aside from just the hardware limitations.

Whatever the case might be, at least fans of The Big N can look forward to some other goodies headed their way this year, as Capcom has teased that Resident EvilResident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 4 are all coming to the Switch, and from what we understand, some new details on those releases will be announced this week, so be sure to stay tuned.
