Here’s How Suicide Squad’s Scott Eastwood Could Look As The Next Wolverine

While the DC fandom has settled on a few clear favorites for who they’d like to see as the next Batman, it’s surely a testament to Hugh Jackman’s success in making Wolverine his own that no actor has gathered any sizable support as his potential replacement. But while the internet has offered a number of jokey suggestions like Daniel Radcliffe and Zac Efron for the role, fan artist Dalton Barrett seems a lot less tongue-in-cheek when he proposes Scott Eastwood.

In an Instagram post that was shared last August but has started to get some renewed attention, Barrett makes the bold claim that the star of Pacific Rim: Uprising, The Fate of the Furious, and Suicide Squad is “the perfect choice for an MCU wolverine!” To strengthen their point, the artist presents an image of Eastwood sporting the familiar tank-top, cigar, and facial hair while contemplating over a glass of liquor. Going by the comments, a lot of fans aren’t buying it, but others seem totally on board.

Whoever lands the part of the adamantium-clawed mutant is never going to win the immediate support of every fan, though if Marvel Studios wants to keep the initial backlash to a minimum, then Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld’s recent suggestion of casting an unknown may not be the worst idea.

In any case, with the Disney/Fox deal still to come into effect, it could be a long wait before we hear who the next Wolverine will be. In the meantime, the current era for the X-Men franchise still has a little more life left in it, with Dark Phoenix coming out on June 7th, 2019, followed by The New Mutants on August 2nd.
