If anything, Arrow sure has been able to catch us off-guard when it comes to returning characters. Already, the current season has seen John Barrowman reprise his Malcolm Merlyn role – albeit during the “Elseworlds” crossover event – not to mention us finally seeing Lexa Doig’s Talia al Ghul resurfacing long after the blast on Lian Yu.
Believe it or not, it looks like Quentin Lance may soon add himself to the tally, too. If you’ll remember, he was killed off at the tail end of season 6, as actor Paul Blackthorne decided to pursue other opportunities. Even so, I guess he couldn’t resist staying away once he was afforded some free time.
Here’s what Blackthorne himself had to say on Twitter:
“I believe Mr Quentin Lance will be popping up tonight on @CW_Arrow A pleasure & a privilege!”
Well, there you have it: in a matter of hours, we’ll be treated to a surprise helping of Quentin – but in what capacity will likely remain a mystery until showtime. Perhaps he’ll be featured in “archival footage” during the documentary-style segments, but that’s just speculation on my part.
Still, it should be noted that an all-new character is slated to appear near the end of the milestone episode, with my current theory saying it’s Dante. Of course, I could be wrong, but I’ve done a decent job of Arrowverse forecasting to this point.
