While it remains to be seen what will become of Loki after his apparent death in Avengers: Infinity War, the recent quarterly earnings call from Disney CEO Bob Iger at least made it inescapably clear that Tom Hiddleston isn’t done with the role quite yet.
The former Avengers villain’s solo project will form part of the first crop of TV shows headed for the upcoming streaming service Disney+, and while the internet has more or less known that this was happening for a while now, this official confirmation has sent excitement levels through the roof.

What’s more, with Iger also announcing that Cassian Andor from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be getting his own show, this has shaped up to be an especially good day for fans of both Star Wars and the MCU.

Of course, with every piece of Marvel-related news that Disney sends our way, you can always expect some fresh questions to spring up in its wake. In this case, some fans are wondering where the show will fit into the franchise timeline.

I’m generally in the camp that I hope #Loki stream is post IW.
But counterpoint. In a prequel, we would finally get the Frigga we deserve.

With things soon to be moving forward with this Loki project, it surely can’t be too long before we get some equivalent news about the Scarlet Witch show, along with the Bucky and Winter Soldier series that we just recently heard about. In fact, there’s a good chance that these aren’t the only three live-action MCU spinoffs that Disney has in the works, with one report from a couple of weeks ago claiming that Nick Fury will be getting the same streaming service treatment, too.
At the moment, the content of all of these shows remains mysterious, but it’s likely that Avengers 4 will offer some major clues about the future of these characters when the film hits theaters on May 3rd, 2019.
