Barry And Oliver Swap Costumes In New Arrowverse Crossover Pics

This year's annual Arrowverse crossover is set to really shake things up by having Arrow's Stephen Amell and The Flash's Grant Gustin swap characters. Titled "Elsewords," the poster for the three-night event promises that for one time only Oliver Queen will be the Scarlet Speedster and Barry Allen the Emerald Archer. Everybody lost their minds over the change and now, we have a better look at the two actors in each others' costumes thanks to some photos taken during filming on the crossover in Vancouver.

The snaps feature Amell, Gustin, Supergirl‘s Melissa Benoist and special guest star Tyler Hoechlin as Superman. All four appear to be having a laugh on set, though a couple of shots seem to suggest that Amell isn’t particularly comfortable in his skin-tight costume. Still, at least Gustin looks like he’s loving that he gets to don a hook and domino mask for once.

After the poster was released, we were wondering whether any other characters would switch identities in the crossover. However, Kara Zor-El and her more famous cousin look to be completely themselves in these scenes, so that might not be the case. It’s worth mentioning, though, that Hoechlin was wearing a dark Superman suit last week. Typically, that’s what the character wears when he comes back from the dead, but we don’t think the event will be tackling that iconic storyline in such a short timeframe.

Of course, not featured in this batch of set photos is Ruby Rose’s Batwoman. We’ve already had our first look at her in full costume, though, and we’re definitely excited to see her in action. Stephen Amell has also teased that the character looks epic on screen, which makes us even more eager to catch this year’s Arrowverse crossover, which kicks off from December 9th with The Flash.
