Halloween is almost upon us, and if the return of both Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger isn’t enough to get you into the spirit of the season, then maybe converting your pumpkin into the head of a genocidal conqueror sounds more like your taste in spooky. That’s what’s been suggested by the official Marvel website, which is offering a stencil and instructions to help you get your pumpkin looking like Avengers 4 star Thanos.
Come to think of it, the Mad Titan’s practically hairless head does seem well-suited for carving, while that bumpy texture on his chin is about as pumpkin-worthy as it gets. With that in mind, if you’re looking to grant an MCU twist to this October’s festivities, then perhaps you should succeed where Thor failed and go for the head.

Though we’re currently in the middle of a dead spot for Marvel movies – between last July’s Ant-Man and the Wasp and this coming March’s Captain Marvel – the events of 2018’s releases have given us a lot to process, with the purple despot emerging from the chaos as the clear winner. And while it’s safe to assume that the tide will somehow turn against the villain in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War sequel, it’s unclear how the highly anticipated film plans to further his story.
A potential clue, however, may come from some recently leaked text, which teased “new foes” and “an even greater threat” for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. When taken on its own, the “new foes” part could simply be referring to a fresh set of cronies for Thanos to command, but next to the promise of a greater threat, fans are currently speculating on the possibility of another big bad coming along to either replace the Mad Titan or join up with him.
We may not know for sure until Avengers 4 hits theaters on May 3rd, 2019, but in the meantime, we look forward to seeing what other holiday traditions fans can find a way of working Thanos into.
