If you’re reading this, then chances are you’ve already seen Avengers: Infinity War, with the ensemble action flick achieving ridiculous levels of box office success when it landed in cinemas earlier this year. But if you’re looking for a new reason to revisit the film on home video release, writer, director, and podcaster Kevin Smith has claimed that the flick’s quality improves appreciably when your viewing experience is aided by a certain substance that could get you kicked out of the theater.
Smith has already voiced his love of Infinity War loud and clear on more than one occasion, even going as far as calling it a “gigantic Marvel masterpiece” earlier this year. With this latest tweet, Smith’s various displays of affection continue, with the fan calling it the best film of year, and when watched under the right conditions, the best film of all time.
“I’ve watched the flick 20 times now so it’s safe to say [Avengers: Infinity War] is easily my favorite movie of the year. I love it so much. When I smoke a joint and watch it? It’s the best picture of the year. When I smoke two joints while watching it? It’s the best movie ever made.”
Take Smith’s words how you will, but it’s not hard to see how an all-action space adventure starring a big purple conqueror could be especially appealing to a viewer under the influence.
For Smith, as for many fans, Avengers: Infinity War has set the bar high for next year’s Avengers 4, but if early talk is anything to go by, this highly anticipated sequel could deliver an even bigger – and according to star Chris Hemsworth, more shocking – spectacle than what came before. While there still isn’t a date set for the first Avengers 4 trailer, the film itself will be hitting theaters on May 3rd, 2019, with our first look at it presumably arriving in November.
