Wonder Woman 1984 Star Gal Gadot Joins Forbes’ List Of Highest Paid Actresses

Earlier this week, it was revealed that none other than Black Widow herself, Scarlett Johansson, was the highest paid actress from June 1st, 2017 to June 1st, 2018, earning $40.5 million - pre-tax, mind you - which is almost double the total of her nearest competitor, Angelina Jolie. That said, Johansson's far from the only superhero on the list.

According to Forbes, joining Johansson amongst the elite women of Hollywood is another MCU leading lady, Cate Blanchett ($12.5M), who portrayed Hela in Taika Waititi’s Thor: RagnarokX-Men: Dark Phoenix star Jennifer Lawrence ($18M) – although, it’s unclear if that picture will ever see the light of day – and Wonder Woman 1984 heroine, Gal Gadot ($10M).

Following her appearance in The Fast and the Furious film series, Gadot’s skyrocketed to stardom, due in no small measure to being cast as Diana of Themyscira, aka Wonder Woman, in the ill-fated DC Extended Universe. She first portrayed the titular heroine in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and since then, has never looked back.

“Gadot, whose turn as Wonder Woman catapulted her to fame, is the only newcomer on the ranking,” says Forbes. “The Patty Jenkins-directed blockbuster tallied $821.8 million at the box office and scored a sequel, which accounts for the majority of Gadot’s payday this year. Though she only made an estimated six figures for the first installment, her increased quote, coupled with a Revlon endorsement, launched her among the highest-paid.”

After snagging a supporting role in Ralph Breaks the Internet, which is due for release later this year (November 21st), Gadot will grace the silver screen in Wonder Woman 1984 (November 1, 2019), the hotly anticipated sequel to the aforementioned 2017 critical and financial smash.

Currently undergoing principal photography, the pic, directed by Patty Jenkins, will also star Kristen Wiig as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor and Pedro Pascal in an undisclosed role. Although, we imagine all eyes will be on Gadot once again as audiences are beyond eager for another dose of her beloved heroine.
