It looks like Tiki Barber overestimated the value of a 36 year old retiree. Not one NFL team took him up on his offer to return to the field of play after retiring after the 2006 season. What a shocker… Did the sarcasm come through on that?
Tiki Barber couldn’t cut it as an NFL analyst. It takes more than good looks and a big smile to make it in TV. Barber didn’t transition from the gridiron to the microphone as well as he thought he would, and it left a void in his life. So he launched his comeback.
Can you call it a comeback when he never actually came-back? Good try buddy.
In the recent Sports Illustrated, NFL columnist Peter King had this to say;
I tried to reach Barber on Sunday, but he wasn’t talking. I hear he’s devastated that no team gave him a chance.
“We are flabbergasted that Tiki has not had an opportunity with any team, especially when rosters were at 90 players this year. I certainly thought some team would be intrigued to see what he had left in the tank.”
