Though there’s no chance of Star-Lord and Arthur Curry teaming up on the big screen, Jason Momoa and Chris Pratt will still star together all the same. Warner Bros.’ presentation on The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part revealed that Momoa will have a cameo in the sequel as a LEGO minifigure version of Aquaman. Though the clip they showed at SDCC hasn’t appeared online, it apparently sees Momoa’s hero encountering the classic version of the King of Atlantis – and much hilarity ensues.

Funnily enough, Pratt and Momoa could have been co-stars in the Marvel Cinematic Universe if things had turned out differently. In case you haven’t heard, the latter was initially up for the role of Drax the Destroyer in the first Guardians before turning it down, leaving Dave Bautista to fill the part. What’s more, Momoa met with the Russo brothers to play a villainous character in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, too, but once again, things didn’t pan out.

At least The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part has finally locked Chris Pratt and Jason Momoa into the same franchise at long last. What’s more, the animated movie will feature even more for Marvel and DC fans to enjoy. As well as seeing the return of Will Arnett’s LEGO Batman, Pratt will play a new character named Rex Dangervest, a parody of both Star-Lord and Jurassic Word‘s Owen Grady. Be sure to catch it in theaters from February 8th, 2019.
