Wade Wilson has never been one to shy away from breaking the fourth wall. Whether it’s an inane pop culture reference or a good-hearted jab at his Marvel kin, Deadpool doesn’t play favorites. And fittingly, with the proposed acquisition of 21st Century Fox by The Walt Disney Company still very much a possibility, the Merc with a Mouth has taken aim, albeit unofficially, at the family-friendly multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate.
Deadpool Musical (H/T ComicBook.com) – whom you might recall as the team behind 2017’s hilarious Beauty and the Beast/Deadpool mashup – has published a sequel to the aforementioned fan parody, conveniently titled Deadpool 2 The Musical, and it’s as rollicking and irreverent as you could’ve hoped.
You can sing along to the splattering of blood below:
In the nearly thirteen minute video, our foul-mouthed antihero can be seen laying waste to the X-Men and the Avengers, all while butchering the following tracklist:
- Moana – “You’re Welcome”
- The Little Mermaid – “Part of Your World”
- Beauty and the Beast – “Belle”
- Aladdin – “A Whole New World”
- Mulan – “Be A Man”
Although it doesn’t provide any practical use, this farcical spoof does impart some semblance of what an amalgamation between 21st Century Fox and The Walt Disney Company would look like.
Granted, the driving force behind the highest grossing film franchise of all-time, Kevin Feige, has made it abundantly clear – on more than one occasion, mind you – that he has only “vague dreams and vague ideas” of how to incorporate the intellectual properties owned by 21st Century Fox, which include Deadpool, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men, into his neck of the woods, but a fandom must be allowed to dream, right?
