Sandwiched between two MCU titans in Avengers: Infinity War and its so-far unnamed sequel, Avengers 4, it was almost a foregone conclusion that Ant-Man and the Wasp would contain some nods – however small – to Marvel’s team-up movies. Frankly, they’re too big to ignore.
Such was the case during Ant-Man and the Wasp‘s post-credits scene which, we should warn you, is a direct spoiler for both Infinity War and its untitled sequel. So unless you’ve seen Peyton Reed’s miniature pic with your own two eyes, we advise you to bookmark this page and keep it until you’ve swung by your local theater. Don’t worry, we’ll wait.
Because now that they’re back on social media – just in time for Thanos’ Reddit purge, no less – the Russo Brothers have confirmed exactly how Scott Lang experienced Ant-Man and the Wasp‘s post-credits scene and lived to tell the tale. As you can see by their comment down below, it turns out he has Lady Luck to thank for his survival.
Unfortunately, following the post-credits scene, Scott’s left to float around in Marvel’s netherworld on his own, given the Mad Titan successfully dusted his allies – namely Hank Pym, Hope and Janet. And while things aren’t looking particularly good for Ant-Man at the moment, the allusions to a “time vortex” indicate that our pint-sized hero may soon join forces with Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, ultimately leading to the moment when they reunite with the remainder of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in time for Avengers 4.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is now playing in theaters all across North America, with the United Kingdom set to welcome the MCU’s 20th installment next month, on August 3rd.
