Apparently A Captain Marvel Trailer Already Exists, Might Be Shown Next Week

Once Ant-Man and the Wasp arrives in July, the next MCU movie to hit screens will be March's Captain Marvel, the debut adventure for Brie Larson's 1990's heroine Carol Danvers. Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, production on the pic is still underway but a new rumor claims that a teaser trailer has already been put together.

Jeremy Conrad from MCU Cosmic claims that he’s heard from “multiple people” that a short promo for Captain Marvel has been cut and is currently working its way through the “Disney marketing machine.” As for how this could be possible while filming is still going on, Conrad argues that Marvel Studios tends to produce its special effects and digital work as soon as the scenes come in, rather than leaving it all until post-production.

So, assuming this info’s correct, when can we see the teaser? Well, you might assume that our first look at Captain Marvel would come during San Diego Comic-Con, taking place this July. However, it’s been announced that Marvel isn’t holding a panel this year, so don’t expect anything about the MCU to come from the convention. Likewise, there’s no D23 until August 2019.

Conrad’s suggestion, then, is that Disney could be preparing the teaser for CineEurope, the movie exhibitor event taking place in Barcelona early next week. The studio’s big presentation is set for Wednesday, so it’s possible that they could unveil a Captain Marvel teaser to the crowd in attendance. Unfortunately for the rest of the world, though, we can’t see it being officially released online at that time – aside from a bootleg version, of course.

On the other hand, Black Panthers first teaser trailer landed in June 2017 while the film dropped in cinemas in February. That’s a similar gap between now and Captain Marvel, so you never know, maybe the studio will surprise us. Still, we’d advise taking this all with a grain of salt until we hear directly from Kevin Feige and co. Though with Carol Danvers set to make her debut in March, it shouldn’t be too much longer before we at least get some official photos, if not a bit of footage.
