Casting Rumors For The Expendables 2 Are Crazy

Ok, so The Expendables didn't earn half of the Academy Awards it deserved, but it was a decent action flick that featured everybody who has ever thrown on a punch on the silver screen in the past decade. To summarize, the movie was everything manly drowned in testosterone and sweat and then put onto a disc with a roundhouse kick.

Ok, so The Expendables didn’t earn half of the Academy Awards it deserved, but it was a decent action flick that featured everybody who has ever thrown on a punch on the silver screen in the past decade. To summarize, the movie was everything manly drowned in testosterone and sweat and then put onto a disc with a roundhouse kick.

Most of the appeal was in the cast, because it was just plain awesome to watch Jason Statham get into shoot-outs with Jet Li or to watch Sylvester Stallone blow up a whole island because HE’S JUST THAT MANLY! With The Expendables 2, Sly is looking to go even bigger and better, and the recent cast rumors are looking to add to that goal.

It looks like Bruce Willis has already signed on to return as the villain, but everybody else is on a wish-list that Sly has put together with his production team. Already on this list are legends such as Chuck Norris and John Travolta, which is more than enough to sell millions of  tickets. But the latest slew of rumors have added Nicholas Cage, Christian Slater, Christopher Lambert and Taylor Lautner to possible candidates for roles in the upcoming film.

Yes, you read that right. Taylor Lautner. Despite representing everything effeminate about werewolves, he is looking to expand his action portfolio with movies such as the upcoming Abduction. While all of these casting choices could be interesting, I’ll be even more sold if they can just get Chuck Norris away from conquering nations and enslaving unicorns long enough to be featured in a new movie.

We’ll continue to keep you up to date on any news about The Expendables 2 but in the meantime, tell us, what are your thoughts on this wish-list that’s being put together?
