AMC Reveals Full Details For Their Insane 31-Hour MCU Marathon

So you like Marvel movies now do you? Well, AMC wonders whether you might like to watch 31 hours of them in a row, culminating in Avengers: Infinity War.

Hieronymus Bosch has got nothing on this particular hell.

To mark the release of Avengers: Infinity War, AMC is putting on a 12 movie MCU marathon that begins on April 25th at 13:30 and ends 31 hours later at about 20:30 on the following day. The venues for this are just two theatres: AMC Empire 25 in New York and AMC Disney Springs 24 in Florida (a little disappointing for those on the West Coast).

Of course, this is a marathon for only the truly insane MCU fans, sure to turn anyone that attends into a gibbering pile of flesh with bloodshot eyes and fists full of “marathon only collectibles.” Think Homer in that Treehouse of Horror episode where he gets to eat all the donuts… in the world!

Here’s the full schedule:

IRON MAN (1:30pm), THE INCREDIBLE HULK (4:00pm), THOR (6:15pm), CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER (9:00pm), MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS (11:30pm), GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY (2:15am), AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON (4:30am), CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (7:15am), DOCTOR STRANGE (10:00am), SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING (12:45pm), BLACK PANTHER (3:15pm), AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (6:00pm)

Sorry Ant-Man fans, seems like you’re out of luck. It looks as if AMC’s tactic is to avoid most sequels, too. So, while fans are spared the nightmarish prospect of watching Thor: The Dark World at 7am, they’re also going to miss out on two of the MCU’s best films in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Thor: Ragnarok. Still, you’re going to need a brain of steel to survive this in one piece – though I’d wager that more than a couple of the attendees will snooze right through Age of Ultron.

While this marathon will only be attended by the most dedicated of Marvel fans, it also offers the absolute worst way to watch Avengers: Infinity War for the first time. Not only will you have been watching Marvel movies for way more than a day without sleep by the time it airs, but can you imagine the stink in the cinema by that point? I’ve been to press junkets and sat in a movie theatre from 9am to midnight and by the end of the day I was desperate for fresh air and a quiet, cosy bed.

If you’re signed up for this, I have respect for you. You’re a true fan and you deserve kudos. But, let’s face it, you’re also completely nuts.
