MCU Intel Suggests Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 Is Headed To Europe

Building on Omega Underground's recent scoop, That Hashtag Show has all but confirmed that Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 is headed for Europe.

To say that Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 has been placed on the back-burner may read as something of an understatement – Marvel still has Black Panther, Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel to contend with, after all, and Peter Parker’s second solo outing isn’t due to arrive until July of 2019.

Nevertheless, director Jon Watts is already hard at work developing his Homecoming follow-up. Case in point: That Hashtag Show brings word that Watts and his team plan to whisk Spidey off to Europe – Germany or the United Kingdom, to be specific – where filming will begin a little earlier than expected on May 28th.

Said to be operating under the working title “Fall of George” (h/t Omega Underground), Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 will remain in production throughout the summer, before filming wraps in Atlanta this September – barring any unforeseen hiccups, of course.

On paper, a Euro trip aligns with previous rumors that Marvel Studios was in the process of casting a non-American version of Gwen Stacy, the fan-favorite character initially portrayed by Emma Stone across Marc Webb’s ill-fated Spidey saga. This could potentially open up an avenue for Spider-Gwen to make her cinematic debut, as the young, fresh-faced Peter Parker will likely be spending a semester abroad in order to give Aunt May some peace and quiet.

Yes, by the time the credits rolled on Spider-Man: Homecoming, Marisa Tomei’s supporting player had stumbled upon the worst-kept secret in New York City: Peter Parker and Spider-Man are, in fact, one and the same.

Alas, other than the fact that it’s coming from screenwriters Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, little is currently known about the plot of Spider-Man: Homecoming 2. Rest assured though, the wheels are in motion, as Jon Watts and Co. have a deadline to meet: July 5th, 2019.
