Best Buy Unveils Exclusive It Steelbook Ahead Of January’s Blu-Ray Release

Pennywise will float onto home video this January, and to commemorate the occasion, Best Buy has unveiled its exclusive It steelbook.

In the weeks leading up September 8th, it soon became apparent that Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema had a box office monster on their hands with It, Andy Muschietti’s R-rated adaptation that struck a deft balance between horror and heart – between a transdimensional demon, and six teenagers prepared to stare down the face of evil.

As a matter of fact, it didn’t take long before It’s initial box office haul reflected Muschietti’s crowning achievement, which has since accumulated more than $670 million worldwide. Hell, there’s even been talk of Warner Bros. launching an Oscar campaign for the horror film, which would place the Stephen King adaptation in the company of Wonder Woman, Get Out and scores of other potential winners that have emerged from left-field.

But for the folks of Derry, Maine, Pennywise the Dancing Clown will soon be summoned onto Blu-ray and DVD, and to celebrate, Best Buy is preparing to stock an exclusive It steelbook, one which features a haunting image of the young Georgie (?) trapped in the sewers.

First spotted by Blu-ray.com (with a tip of the hat to Bloody Disgusting), this package will come bundled with a raft of special features – ditto for the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and 2-Disc Special Edition DVD – including:

Pennywise Lives! – Discover how Bill Skarsgård prepared to portray the primordial creature known as Pennywise the Dancing Clown

The Losers’ Club – Get up close and personal with the teenage stars of “IT” as they bond together during the production,

Author of Fear – Stephen King reveals the roots of his best-selling novel, the nature of childhood fear and how he created his most famous monster, Pennywise

Deleted Scenes – Eleven deleted or extended scenes from the film

Pennywise will claw his way out of the sewers and onto Digital HD on December 19th. A Blu-ray release will follow in January with scores of special features, and if you’re eager to snatch this exclusive It steelbook, you’ll want to keep an eye on Best Buy’s official website over the festive period.

And after that? It: Chapter Two will be summoned into theaters on September 6th, 2019, and the momentum behind Jessica Chastain’s potential casting as adult Bev continues to grow. New Line, are you listening?
