Contentious horror threequel Jeepers Creepers 3 is coming to TV a lot sooner than you think, thanks to Syfy’s ongoing 31 Days of Halloween event.
Word comes by way of Dread Central, confirming that Victor Salva’s troubled and indeed long-in-development flick will swoop onto television on Saturday, October 28th at 9pm, before Syfy stages an encore showing on Sunday, October 29th at the earlier time of 7pm.
Since Jeepers Creepers 3 was first hatched, Salva’s follow-up has become the cinematic equivalent of a hot potato. Major theaters chains quickly distanced themselves from the project, restricting Jeepers Creepers 3 to one-night-only screenings back in September.
Of course, as I’m sure you’re well aware, Victor Salva’s criminal record is the sole source of controversy, given the filmmaker was convicted for sexual misconduct with a minor more than 10 years ago. His victim, Nathan Forrest Winters, has since issued a frank and remarkably brave statement on the matter, in which he leaves the fate of Jeepers Creepers 3 in the hands of the audience.
And following Syfy’s announcement, that audience is about to expand onto television, which is just as well given the film has only collected $2.2 million at the domestic box office. However that may be, here’s the official logline for the threequel known as Ravenous:
A sergeant and his task force embark on a mission to destroy the Creeper on its last day of feeding. The Creeper soon fights back when they get close to discovering its mysterious and dark origins.
Also starring Brandon Smith, Meg Foster, Gina Philips, Stan Shaw, and Ray Wise, Jeepers Creepers 3 will now swoop onto Syfy on October 28th and if it’s more coverage you’re after, look no further than our review. Fair warning, though, it’s pretty damning.
