With a little under a month to go until the release of Dead Island, the marketing has been ramping up. Today sees the release of a new trailer featuring the game’s co-op mode. Deep Silver shows gamers how they’re going to have to stick together and implement teamwork if they hope to survive the island of Banoi, which is swarming with zombies.

Four player drop-in/drop-out co-op is what the game is looking to feature and given the success of Left 4 Dead, I think gamers are going to embrace this mode with open arms. It looks similar to Valve‘s zombie co-op experience but it also looks a bit better. I’m really liking the whole tropical island setting and Dead Island looks a lot more bloody and gruesome than the Left 4 Dead games, which when it comes to zombies, is a good thing.

The game has officially gone gold, and will arrive in stores on September 6th in North America and September 9th for the rest of the world.
