If you’ve grown a little weary of Forza Horizon 3‘s sandy dunes or, for that matter, the arctic conditions of its previous expansion Blizzard Mountain, don’t take your foot off the gas just yet – a whole new way to play is ready and waiting for you. As part of a new collaborative project between Playground Games/Turn 10 and Hot Wheels, Forza Horizon 3‘s latest slice of additional content mashes both worlds together and brings your lofty childhood dreams to life in glorious fashion.
As per the official announcement, Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels whisks players away to a remote chain of islands off the coast of Australia for a much more vertical driving affair than you’ll perhaps be used to. Loops, corkscrews, half-pipes and boost pads are just some of the features that litter these new orange tracks, which spiral ever upward into Earth’s atmosphere. You can watch the launch trailer above, just do yourselves a favor and don’t try and make any sense of the gravity-defying tracks on show – you’ll come away feeling more than a little dazed.
On a more technical note, the Hot Wheels update also brings with it a raft of improvements to Forza Horizon 3‘s PC version, including expanded driving wheel support and improved CPU performance, the latter of which should make playing the racer on maxed out graphics settings a far smoother experience. A handful of new graphics options and more informative descriptions to go with them round out the rest of the package, more details for which you can find here.
This isn’t the first time Hot Wheels has brought its iconic brand to video games. Earlier this year, Rocket League developer Psyonix introduced its own DLC themed after the toy cars. If, however, you prefer your gas guzzlers to be more life-sized but have yet to get in the driver’s seat for Forza Horizon 3, you can check out our review here.
